A 19 year old Manitowoc woman was taken into police custody yesterday morning, after she was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. Police were called to a home in the 900 block of 18th street at 10:45 AM by a citizen, who was requesting assistance in getting the woman out of his home. The woman told officers that she just wanted her backpack from inside the home, and officers went in to retrieve it. The woman consented to a search of the bag, in which officers found several items of drug paraphernalia, including several boxes of clean needles. The woman admitted that the items were used to inject herself with heroin, and she was taken to the Manitowoc County Jail. She is now facing charges of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and one count each of Misdemeanor and Felony Bail Jumping.
