Riverside Foods in Two Rivers will be adding a $6.9 million dollar expansion to its’ plant at 2520 Wilson Street. The growth will allow more storage and production space as its’ parent Company, Lakeside Foods of Manitowoc, stated Riverside has increased sales of frozen appetizers at restaurants in Wisconsin and across the Midwest.
Anne Smith, communications director for Lakeside Foods said expansion plans were already in place when Lakeside bought Riverside Foods Last year. The addition is expected to create 30 new jobs. A timeline for the expansion has not been announced.
Meanwhile, Lakeside Foods through a joint venture with Ohio-based Peak Foods has acquired Blendtopia, a startup company in Nashville that makes nutritious superfood smoothies. Smith explains the investment is a way for the local company to grow & diversify while Peak Foods will handle manufacturing and operations responsibilities.
