Mike Dressler and his Kiel football team have enjoyed a great season and our NFL franchise to the north has taken notice. Dressler has been named the Green Bay Packers High School Coach of the Week.
The Milwaukee native, now in his 7th year as varsity head coach of the Raiders, led his team to a 40-to-nothing rout of a good New Holstein ball club Friday night improving their record to 8-0. It also marked Kiel’s 5th straight 8-win season and they look to complete an undefeated regular season tomorrow night against E-W-C rival Two Rivers.
Dressler, who began his coaching career 47-years ago as an assistant at Milwaukee Pulaski, was humbled by the Packers award but knows he couldn’t have done it by himself. He said, “To our program, it represents what we all do, whether it’s the coaching staff, alumni association, parents, the community or the coaches. It represents how hard we have worked to try & improve our football program here at Kiel.”
Each Coach of the Week winner is awarded several items & privileges, including a $2,000 donation to the school’s football program from the Green Bay Packers, Jack Link’s Protein Snacks & the NFL.
