A 19-year-old bicycle rider says he shouted profanities at the driver of a pickup when the vehicle turned in front of him last month, cutting him off. He says that driver got out, grabbed his bicycle and hit him in the head with it, then punched him in the throat. Fifty-seven-year-old Jeffrey Zander faces charges of disorderly conduct and substantial battery from the incident in Cross Plains. The victim’s mother says the teenager is still being treated for a brain bleed and a concussion five weeks after the incident.
