The WIAA has released pairings for this week’s State Girls High School Tennis Tournament in Madison. A local competitor, Manitowoc Lincoln’s Kendra Peterson, has an opening-round matchup Thursday at noon…against fellow junior, Cindy Bain, of New Berlin Eisenhower. Peterson will take a 20-&-8 mark into the Division-1 action at Nielsen Indoor Stadium…while Bain has fashioned a 31-&-6 record. The state tournament continues on Friday with finals in D-1 and ‘2, scheduled for Saturday.
Pairings are also out for the WIAA Boys Soccer Tournament. In the Division-1 bracket: #16 Manitowoc Lincoln travels to top-seeded Milwaukee Marquette next Tuesday night at Quad Park. In division-3: the Roncalli/Two Rivers co-op, seeded 9th, will be on the road to meet #8 Freedom on Thursday, October 24th, while (#17) Denmark visits Berlin..next Tuesday. And, in Division-4: number-10 Kiel travels to Omro for a Regional match on Thursday the ‘24th.
