SGT Andrew Trilling of the Manitowoc Police Department recently sat down with members of the community to see what kinds of things are important to them in regards to law enforcement during the second iteration of Coffee with a Cop. SGT Trilling told us that there was one topic a lot of people were concerned about. He said that people really want to know about the drug issue. Trilling said, “We like to explain to them what our patrol officers are doing, what the Metro Drug Unit is doing, and what we try to do as a community as a whole.”
We asked SGT Trilling if he feels like the problem is getting better or worse, and he said he doesn’t think it’s getting any worse. “I think our community has taken great strides in trying to address the problem, and recovery.”
He also explained that good things are happening, thanks to campaigns like Dose for Hope, and the Drug Court.
