The Brillion invitational cross country meet was held yesterday, with ten schools involved. The Valders boys won the team title with a score of 40 to Hortonville’s 48. Manitowoc Lincoln ran a split squad with half the team in the Brillion event, with the other half set to run at Wisconsin Rapids tomorrow. Valders was led by Shane Griepentrog, who finished third overall. Clay Taylor was fifth and Nate Griepentrog came in seventh. Top runner for the Ships was Luis Candelaria at 35th place. On the girls side, Oostburg was the top finisher with Hortonville second, and Valders third. Avery Kauth of Valders finished tenth, while Elena Zalava was the only Ships runner and came in 13th.
Manitowoc Lutheran was in the Campbellsport invitational, which included ten cross country teams. The Lancer girls were led by Brooklyn Luebke, who finished first overall, leading the team to a third place finish. The Lancer boys also finished third overall, with Josh Zander taking 6th place.
