Badgers’ Weak Spot Is Pass Defense (Sort Of)

Teams playing the Wisconsin Badgers know they are going to have a hard time moving the ball and scoring points.  Coach Paul Chryst and defensive coordinator Jim Leonard lead a defense that is number-one in rushing and total defense.  Passing has been the strength for this week’s opponent, Michigan State, and that is a relative weak spot for Wisconsin — but, not really.  The Badgers aren’t number-one against the pass, but they are still in the top-10 nationally at number-eight.  Putting pressure on Spartan quarterback Brian Lewerke is important – and the Michigan State pass protection is spotless, giving up less than one sack-a-game.
