There’s going to be a change in business at the former Top-Hat Adult Entertainment nightclub in Manitowoc. Don Murray and his new partners will be opening Renegades Country Bar next month. Murray tells SeehaferNews.com “It’s going to be a country bar with a little rock n’ roll.”
His business partners for Renegades are Brett & Jodi Bessler and Greg & Sharon Fencl. Murray said he opened the Top Hat in 1993 but along with challenges of running such a nightspot along with a myriad of health issues it was time to slow down. On top of the stress of finding quality entertainers, Don said he was working every night until 2:30 in the morning and “It just became too much.”
Murray says he’s been part of managing many local establishments including 141 Speedway, Linebacker, The Blues House, and The Dog House among others. He quipped, “Yeah, I’ve been busy over the last 25 years.”
He told us that he is a 50% owner of Renegades, and will still be working during the day. But “With these new younger partners, I can kick back a little bit.”
Renegades will have a soft-opening November 1st to get everything smoothed out. The grand opening with a live band will be November 8th.
Don Murray is proud of the fact that he’s been able to donate well-over $50,000 to local charities in the past 26-years, adding he wants to continue to give back to the community with his new enterprise.
