The Wisconsin Legislature’s Joint Finance Committee will be in session today (Wednesday) to go over some funding requests and other topics. Staff from the Department of Public Instruction will be asking the committee to release funds to support the HOPELINE Suicide Prevention Hotline. The UW-System wants funding for a Dairy Innovation Hub. Funding for both projects has already been approved by the legislature. The committee will also consider bills that would add 12 new judges to the state’s county court system, provide funding for Green Bay harbor assistance, and create a tax credit for volunteer firefighters.
