The attorneys representing Brendan Dassey are asking for clemency. Dassey’s team has petitioned Governor Tony Evers for leniency in the case of the murder of Theresa Halbach back in 2005, saying “this is his best shot” at coming home. The defense claims that the prosecution tricked Dassey into confessing to the murder. Dassey has gone on record saying that he wanted the questioning to be over with, so he “said whatever they wanted to hear.” Dassey and his Uncle Steven Avery are both serving life sentences for the murder of Halbach at the Avery Auto Salvage Yard in Mishicot.
