The University of Wisconsin men’s hockey team is getting some national preseason hype. Coach Tony Granato’s team is ranked 16th in the first U-S-C-H-O poll and picked to finish third in the Big Ten Conference. Badgers defensemen K’Andre Miller and Wyatt Kalynuk made the all-Big Ten preseason first team. U-W’s freshman class is one of reasons the team is considered a contender this season after missing the N-C-A-A tournament five years in a row. The group includes first-round N-H-L draft picks Alex Turcotte and Cole Caufield and projected 2020 first-rounder Dylan Holloway. The Badgers are holding a public scrimmage at the Kohl Center Sunday.
