Major Workforce Housing Project Proposed for Sheboygan

A St. Louis area developer is proposing to construct 248 apartment units in the city of Sheboygan.  According to a news release from the Sheboygan County Economic Development Corporation, Clayton, Missouri based Green Street Development Group LLC is planning to build the Oscar, a 4 building, $45 million apartment complex at 1440 S. 16th Street.  City documents show the vast majority of the complex is considered as workforce housing at the existing VanDerVart Concrete Products LLC facility.  Also as part of the project, a new Kwik-Trip store will be constructed at the southern portion of the site, north of Broadway Avenue and west of South Business Drive.  VanDerVart meanwhile is building a new consolidated facility in the nearby Town of Wilson and will be allowed by the Missouri developer to continue using portions of the Sheboygan site through 2021.
