A former nurse accused of abusing infants in a Madison hospital’s neo-natal intensive care unit is pleading guilty to 19 charges. Forty-three year-old Christopher Kaphaem (KAP’-em) had his bond revoked and was taken into custody Monday following a court hearing. Kaphaem was suspended from Meriter Hospital when investigators first suspected his involvement with patient injuries. A criminal complaint describes a variety of injuries to infants in Meriter’s N-I-C-U between March 2017 and February of this year.
