The Manitowoc Public School District has taken to Facebook to respond to the threat to Manitowoc Lincoln High School. At around 7:00 this morning, the MPSD Facebook page posted the following.
“Good Morning Awesome Shipbuilders-
The below is being sent to our families this morning about some threats that were posted and shared broadly on social media over the weekend.
Sent out via IC message.
Manitowoc Public School District and the Manitowoc Police Department take all threats seriously and have worked cooperatively and exhaustively to ensure the safety of everyone at Lincoln and within our community.
Recently, information has come to our attention about several social media posts linked to threats of violence at Lincoln High School. These threats have been investigated and the Manitowoc Police Department and the Manitowoc Public School District are prepared to proceed with school as usual today.
Our goal is to provide a safe and loving learning environment for students and staff. If your child is not feeling safe, please have them talk to teachers, school counselors, administrators, or MPD Officer Check.”
