De Pere Man Faces Additional Charge in Child Abuse Case

A De Pere man was in Brown County Court late last week and is now facing an additional charge of repeated sexual assault of a child. A 2018 complaint states that 53 year old Donald Windey was sexually and mentally abusing his adopted children from 2006 to 2016. Police were sent to Windey’s home on February 12^th, 2018 to investigate the reports of abuse, The three adopted children, two girls aged 14 and 15, and a 15 year old boy told the officers that they were  punched, choked, spanked, thrown against a wall, had their hair pulled, and suffered  food and exercise punishment. Another 19 year old woman, who was also adopted by the Windeys also described her years of abuse to the police. Windey’s trial is scheduled to begin on January 6^th.
