The month of October is Crime Prevention Month and the Manitowoc Police Department will be holding a number of activities throughout the month that the public can take part in. Including “Coffee with a Cop” at the Starbucks in Manitowoc. Along with the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office, Coffee with a Cop brings police officers and the community members that they serve together to discuss issues, learn more about each other and spend some time building partnerships. Free coffee and pastries for those that participate in the event.

Oct. 1st – “Story Time With a Police Officer” at Manitowoc Public Library(Sgt. Trilling, Officer Laabs and Officer Krock will be participating. 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.)
Oct. 2nd – “Coffee With A Cop” at Starbucks (Officers and Deputies from Manitowoc Police Department and Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office will be participating. 1 to 3 p.m.)
Oct. 3rd – “WOMT “Be My Guest” at WOMT Radio (Sgt. Trilling and Manitowoc Public Library Staff will be discussing the various October events — 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.). Streaming online at womtradio.com
Oct. 5th – “Bicycle Safety Awareness” at Manitowoc Farmers Market (Sgt. Trilling and his helpers will be discussing Bicycle Safety and have a chance to get a free helmet or enter to win a bike. Free bicycle license. 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)
Oct. 8th – “Recognizing Fraud and Scams” Presentation at Manitowoc Senior Center 11 a.m. to Noon (Sgt. Trilling, Presenter)
Oct. 9th – “Recognizing Fraud and Scams” Presentation at Shady Lane, Inc. 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.(Sgt. Trilling, Presenter)
Oct. 16th – “Stop Human Trafficking” Presentation at Felician Village 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. (Sgt. Trilling, Presenter)
Oct. 17th – “Close to Home: Neighborhood Watch Meeting Night” at Manitowoc Public Library 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. (Sgt. Trilling, Presenter)
Oct. 22nd – “Junior Police Officer Academy” at Manitowoc Public Library 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.(Sgt. Trilling and other Manitowoc Police Officers)
Oct. 23rd – “Lights of Christmas NE Wisconsin” Fundraiser Culver’s (LE from Manitowoc Police Department, Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office, and Two Rivers Police Department will be on hand during lunch and supper hours)
Oct. 29th – “Family Activity Night: Trunk or Treat!” at Manitowoc Public Library 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (Sgt. Trilling)
Oct. 31st – “Patrolling the Neighborhoods During Trick or Treat Hours” (Sgt. Trilling will be patrolling City of Manitowoc Neighborhoods during Trick or Treat Hours (5 p.m. to 7 p.m.)
