A program called ‘Dine 4 the K9’ is continuing through next Monday at Manitowoc area restaurants. City of Manitowoc Police Chief Nick Reimer tells SeehaferNews.com it’s been a terrific fundraiser for the MTPD K-9 Unit. “The community has been extremely giving,” Reimer said. “Those k9s belong to our community so I think it’s important that we all get together and support those K9s.”
The chief pointed out just to train the k-9’s for their police work costs between $12,000 and-$15,000. Reimer explains local restaurants have agreed to donate a portion of their profits to the canine program in September. “It’s a good way for us to work with those businesses because I’s good for the business (we get people to go there), and it’s good for the K9sa because we get some of the profits.
The next stop for Dine 4 the K9 is tonight at H & C Elbow Room, then Saturday at the Waverly Inn, Sunday at Shooter Malone’s and Monday at Pizza Garden.
