The Milwaukee Brewers have accomplished something only done one other time in franchise history, they have secured a post-season spot for the second straight year. A 9-2 victory at Cincinnati last night ensure that the Crew will be playing baseball in October. Ryan Braun’s grand slam got things started in the first inning for the Brewers. Jordan Lyles picked up the win against the Reds, leading the Brewers to their sixth win in-a-row and 17th-of-19 in September.
They may not be done — a St. Louis loss to Arizona means Milwaukee trails the Cardinals by just a game-and-a-half with three left to play.
Chase Anderson starts this afternoon’s series finale as his team goes for the sweep. First pitch is scheduled for 11:35 PM, with pregame coverage on 1240 AM WOMT at 11:00 AM.
