The Wisconsin Natural Resources Board will be (is) meeting in Mishicot today. SeehaferNews.com has been told topics on the agenda include: requests to consider proposed rules on increasing the operational efficiency of and simplifying the air permit process, rules addressing minor changes to fishing regulations and proposed rules related to ruffed grouse management.
Other agenda items mentioned are a proposal to rename Peshtigo River State Forest to Governor Earl Peshtigo River State Forest in honor of the former governor and a request to accept donations from the Friends of High Cliff State Park of nearly $136,000 to support a new A-D-A accessible playground. The Natural Resources Board may go into a closed session late this morning to confer with legal counsel regarding litigation: one of those involves the Kohler Company & Kohler-Andrae State Park.
Yesterday, board members took a Lake Michigan boat trip to observe sport fishing & have discussions on how it relates to Great Lakes fisheries and went on a tour of the Manure Separation & Treatment System at Pagels Ponderosa near Kewaunee, Wisconsin’s largest family-owned dairy farm.
Today’s board meeting at Fox Hills Resort (in the Southern/Northern Pines Room) gets underway at 8:30. Those interested can watch the proceedings over the internet by going to the NRB agenda page of the DNR website and clicking on webcasts.
