The Green Bay man charged in the near-fatal stabbing of a police dog has been bound over for trial. Thirty-year-old Sai Van appeared in court today (Wednesday) and waived his preliminary hearing. The defense and prosecution are reportedly working on a plea deal. Vang was found competent to stand trial last week. Police were called to an apartment April 7th on a report that Vang threatened to kill his father. Pyro jumped on Vang and he stabbed the dog with a large boning-style knife. Vang claims he stabbed the K-9 officer because he’s scared of dogs. Pyro had multiple surgeries and has since returned to duty. Vang will be arraigned October 11.
