A 19-year-old woman tells Madison police she was sexually assaulted when she accepted a ride from strangers in the city’s downtown area. Her name hasn’t been released and no arrests have been made. The woman says she got separated from her friends Saturday and accepted the offer of a ride. She says one of the people in the car assaulted her, but she was able to escape and call her friends — who then reported the attack to police. The woman is from out-of-state, so she is unfamiliar with the area, but police are reviewing security camera footage to find the suspect.
