The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) has announced that it has partnered with the Milwaukee Brewers Community Foundation to promote immunizations through public service announcements (PSA’s) recorded in Spanish by Brewers’ catchers Yasmani Grandal and Manny Pina. In the sixty-second PSA’s, Grandal and Pina talk about the importance of protecting your family by having them vaccinated against diseases like measles, mumps, whooping cough, and others. DHS Secretary-designee Andrea Palm said it was important that they issue a Spanish version of the PSAs because “Wisconsin has nearly 400,000 Spanish speaking residents, yet too often language barriers can prevent many people from getting the health care they need.”
