Senator Tammy Baldwin is co-sponsoring a bill that would stop the government from spending taxpayer dollars at properties owned by the president, vice president and cabinet officials. The Heightened Oversight of Travel, Eating and Lodging Act aims to prevent potential conflicts of interest and abuse of taxpayer dollars. The Wisconsin Democrat said, “this reform will make sure taxpayers are not funding profits for Trump’s business interests.” A House committee is investigating Vice President Mike Pence’s decision to stay at Trump’s golf resort in Doonbeg, Ireland last week which was 180 miles from his official meetings in Dublin.
