One Wisconsin lawmaker says that chronic wasting disease is a threat to the state’s deer population and she hopes to get a handle on the problem before it’s too late. Democrat Katrina Shankland of Stevens Point has introduced an approach that would cost four-million dollars. Half of the state funding would go toward a collection of C-W-D samples and the other half would be spent on research.
