The “Grand Champion” Manitowoc Bandits dominated the postseason awards handed out this week. The Bandits, under the leadership of Manager of the Year Chris Cisler, were crowned “Grand Champion” by virtue of winning both the regular season and League Championship titles. Six Bandits—including Cisler—are named “All Shoreland” led by Pitcher of the Year Luke Mandich. Mandich is a repeat winner of the award by posting a 4 and 1 record with an earned run average of three-point-four-three. In 39 1/3 innings of work, Mandich struck out a league-high 43 batters. Left-handed slugging outfielder Chris Casper won the league batting title by hitting .500 producing a league-best 22 hits in 44 at-bats. Other Bandits on the first team are the third baseman Mike Ruzek who also earned Honorable Mention honors as a pitcher—shortstop Earl Vorpagel and Designated Hitter Michael Rottier.
Five members of the Denmark Devilbears were named all Shoreland with outfielder Alex Loberger and Pitcher Trevor DePas named to the first team. Outfielder Tom Sawyer of league runner-up Algoma was named League MVP.
