On the 18th anniversary of the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center Towers and the Pentagon, Old Glory Honor Flight is taking a group of veterans to Washington DC. This will be a one day tour. The flight took off at around 6:40 this morning from the Appleton International Airport. The 100 veterans on board served in World War II, Korea or Vietnam, and will visit the monuments that were erected in their honor. One report indicates that 97-year-old Norman Pitsch, who was a part of the D-Day invasion is on the flight, just a week after turning 97.
