Marquette University President Michael Lovell says the school is reducing its staff size by two-and-a-half percent. Two dozen staff members have been laid off this week. Lovell says the university is getting ready for demographic changes which could mean a decline of 15-to-25 percent among college-age students. Midwestern birth rates are down. President Lovell says Marquette is currently on a solid financial footing, but it has to be prepared for the future.
