A 74-year-old Appleton man has been found guilty of Attempted Child Enticement. Charles Rodgers entered a no-contest plea yesterday and was found guilty by the court. The criminal complaint indicated that Rodgers, who was serving as a driver’s education teacher at the time, would make “crude and inappropriate comments” toward the victim, and had placed his hand on her thigh. After she received her driver’s license, Rodgers also sent her a letter which read “I love you so much that I am a wreck” and “I can’t take being near you but can’t have you.” A sentencing date has not yet been set.
