The city of Two Rivers has hired Elizabeth Runge to serve as Community Development Director and City Planner. City Manager Greg Buckley says Ms. Runge’s qualifications stood out among 30 applicants for the newly created position which include 26 years of professional experience in the planning and community development field mostly in the Green Bay and Fox Valley area. Runge who resides in Allouez with her husband Cole also holds an undergraduate degree in political science and a master’s degree in urban and regional planning from the University of Iowa.
Her responsibilities in her new position include working with existing and new businesses to encourage investment in Two Rivers, implementing initiatives to be funded with resources from the City’s Economic Developing Revolving Loan Fund, and work on continued revitalization of downtown and waterfront areas, just to name a few.
Ms. Runge says “I am excited to begin work in Two Rivers. It is a wonderful community with beautiful assets and filled with opportunity. City staff and leadership have invested time and resources into existing and future plans and I look forward to being a part of these efforts.” Her first day is September 16th.
