Bail was set at $1,000 cash each for two Reedsville residents facing drug charges after being taken into custody earlier this week in Manitowoc. 28-year-old Zachary E. Held is charged with possession of methamphetamine-second or subsequent offense while 37-year-old Samantha L. Schnell is also charged with possession of methamphetamine-second or subsequent offense and keeper of a drug house or car.
Two Manitowoc Police Officers were on routine patrol early Tuesday morning when they initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of South 22nd and Marshall Streets after spotting a car with a heavy tint in the rear window and a passenger, which turned out to be Schnell, not wearing a seatbelt. K-9 Neko’s search of the vehicle revealed a bag of methamphetamine and both defendants were taken into custody.
Conditions of bail are that both Held and Schnell have no contact with any known drug dealers or users and maintain absolute sobriety from drugs and alcohol. They remain in the County Jail with initial appearances scheduled for September 3rd at 2:30.
