
During the thunderstorm that ripped through Manitowoc Monday evening in to Tuesday morning, a branch fell in the 600 block of South 28th Street. The branch can be seen here laying on the ground, as the homeowner continued cleaning up the mess that was left. The branch was roughly 6 inches in diameter.
A major disaster declaration for 17 Wisconsin counties means local governments impacted by severe storms last month can apply for federal recovery assistance. Governor Tony Evers had requested the declaration last week. Crews have assessed damages from the storms at more than $19.5 million from severe thunderstorms, tornadoes and flooding. The Menominee Indian Tribe and St. Croix Chippewa Indians of Wisconsin were included.
