Packers linebacker Oren Burks won’t need surgery and could play much sooner than Green Bay had feared when he first got hurt. Burks was expected to start at linebacker before he injured his pectoral muscle. It’s possible the team won’t have to put him on injured reserve. The return of Rashan Gary to practice Monday is also good news for coach Matt LaFleur. It looked like the defensive lineman had suffered a serious injury in the preseason game against Oakland, but that apparently isn’t the case.
The Packers organization is also confirming that former QB Brett Favre will be at the 2019 home opener. The home opener on September 15th wi;ll be the second game of the season, and will be against the Minnesota Vikings following a week one match-up in Chicago against the Bears.
The Packers will have their final pre-season game this Thursday against the Kansas City Chiefs at Lambeau Field. Coverage on 1240 AM WOMT will begin at 5:00 PM prior to the 7:00 kick off.
