The Wisconsin Democratic Party is playing down reports that some delegates to next summer’s national convention will stay in Illinois hotels. Party chair Ben Winkler says that’s not a problem. He promises almost every single room in southeastern Wisconsin will be full next July. Winkler says delegates staying in Illinois will still come to Milwaukee for the convention and spend plenty of money. He says the economic impact will spread as far as Madison in Wisconsin.
