A 40-year-old man tells Madison police a group of two men and three women attacked him in the downtown area Saturday. The victim’s name hasn’t been released. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of severe facial and orbital fractures. The injured man apparently said something to the group when they threw food onto the ground. Witnesses say that’s when the group attacked, then ran away, while the injured man was left on the ground.
