Major League Baseball is warning players about the risk of using over-the-counter sexual-enhancement drugs containing banned substances. The memo obtained by ESPN warns the products are “often contaminated with prohibited and unsafe ingredients” that could lead to players facing disciplinary action even if they inadvertently consumed a banned substance. The memo comes after at least two players suspended this year for using performance-enhancing drugs tested positive for banned substances that came from unregulated drugs. MLB suggests that players who have a legitimate need for sexual-enhancement drugs get them only from a licensed physician and only use products that are NSF Certified for Sport.
