The man who crashed into Beaver Dam Middle School late Wednesday night remains jailed on a ten-thousand-dollar cash bond. Twenty-two-year-old Roy Cortez is facing a felony charge of fleeing an office, O-W-I and causing property damage in Dodge County. A woman who reported a domestic disturbance told police Cortez broke a window and drove off under the influence of alcohol. Officers spotted the car but Cortez refused to pull over and ended up crashing into the middle school building. His car hit an electrical transformer, the exterior wall and started a fire. Cortez suffered non-life threatening injuries. Damage to the school is estimated at 100-thousand dollars.
