The 2nd District Court of Appeals has upheld the conviction of a Darien man who threatened police on Facebook. Aaron Wigman was cited for disorderly conduct after he made racially-charged statements during a rant at a bar in Delavan. When he got home, he posted a comment on Facebook that the next officer who messed with him should wear bulletproof pants — and he promised to “bleed officers out.” Wigman contended the posts weren’t a true threat as defined in state statutes, but the appeals court disagreed.
