Another piece of good news to report in regard to the Manitowoc Family Aquatic Center Phase-3 Capital Campaign. Investors Community Bank, which is headquartered in Manitowoc, has made a $25,000 donation to the campaign. Amy Fricke-Weigel, Friends Board President, said “Investors Community Bank has been a wonderful donor & supporter of the Aquatic Center from the beginning.” She added, “They believe in Manitowoc and what the Aquatic Center can do for the community by enhancing our quality of life.”
Tim Schneider, Investors’ CEO & co-founder said of their donation, “It is part of our mission to support the communities in which we live and work. We are proud to play a part in helping this wonderful organization grow, so it is able to continue serving the families of the lakeshore in bigger and better ways for years to come.”
The Friends’ group says about 75% of the $2.2 million goal has been secured through pledges and commitments from donors during the initial private fundraising efforts. Fricke-Weigel said their goal is to raise the final funds with support from the general public and open a new warming pool with hot tub atmosphere, a 2,700 square foot splash pad with multiple water spray features and a 2nd reservable shelter. They hope to open the new facilities during the 2020 summer season.
