Those with prescription drugs they no longer need will have an opportunity to properly dispose of them in mid-September. The collection event will be held at the Kiel Community Center on September 12th from 2:00-4:00 p.m. The Manitowoc County Drug Program is reminding citizens that all prescription, over the counter, and veterinary medication will be accepted, along with controlled substances and supplements. Pills should be placed in a quart size or smaller zip-lock style bag, as pill bottles will not be taken. All creams and liquids, however, should remain in their original bottle or tube. Some other items that will not be collected are needles, chemical waste, electronic glucose monitors, non-medical inhalers, and personal care products like cosmetics and shampoo. This collection is for households only. Businesses should call 920-683-4333 for disposal information.
