A pair of Sheboygan men are now facing additional hate crime charges after an incident on July 4th. The incident in question saw 63 year old Scott Roeder approach a vehicle carrying several unnamed back women. He began shouting racial slurs and told them to “go back to Milwaukee.” A scuffle ended up breaking out after the father of one of the woman was surrounded by 7 or 8 men, including 32 year old Ryan Roeder, who the father punched. Ryan responded by striking him in the ribs with a shovel. Scott is facing multiple charges, including recklessly endangering safety with modifiers of a hate crime and use of a dangerous weapon, while Ryan is charged with felony battery with hate crime modifiers and use of a dangerous weapon among several other misdemeanor charges.
