The Wisconsin Department of Corrections is apologizing for releasing protected information about hundreds of inmates. State officials say they were responding to a Freedom of Information request in June. The information released could allow others to find out which inmates were getting drug treatment. That kind of information is protected and can’t legally be shared. About 14-hundred inmates have been told their privacy may have been violated.
