Approximately 1400 MPU Customers were without power following the downing of a power line near the Meijer Store Construction site. MPU Customer Services Manager Dan Salm tells Seehafer News that construction equipment made contact with a high voltage line in the 1800 block of South Rapids Road affecting businesses and residences from the Calumet Avenue-South Frontage Road area-north to Custer Street and east of Rapids Road. The outage area included portions of Harbor Town and the Expo Drive Industrial Park. All customers were back on-line by 1 p.m. No one was hurt.
