The Wisconsin Court of Appeals has rejected the argument of a son who shot his parents to death, letting his conviction stand. Attorneys for Eric Koula contended he got ineffective trial counsel. Koula was found guilty seven years ago of shooting Dennis and Merna Koula to death in 2010. Prosecutors told the court he had financial problems and his parents were about to quit helping him. On the day his parents died, Koula forged a check for 50-thousand dollars from his father. He will continue serving a life prison sentence without the possibility of parole.
