The Sheboygan Fire Department was called yesterday morning to Cargill Malt to rescue three employees that had become trapped in a malt silo. The call came in just before 10:30 a.m. and the Sheboygan County Tactical Rescue Team was also requested to assist. At least one of the individuals was trapped up to his neck, and the other two became trapped while trying to rescue him. It took about an hour to get the first two employees out of the silo, who were subsequently treated at the scene and released. The third victim was rescued and transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. It is not clear at this time how the first individual had become trapped in the silo, but all three escaped without major injury.
