Manitowoc Mayor Justin Nickels
It’s no secret that Manitowoc Mayor Justin Nickels has been focusing on rejuvenating the downtown area of the city. With parking changes and new businesses, it’s safe to say that his vision is starting to really take shape. Mayor Nickels was on the WCUB Radio morning show “The Breakfast Club” earlier this week, and he praised the businesses downtown for their focus on adding outdoor activities this summer. “There’s a lot of different places downtown that are starting to add outdoor venues,” the mayor explained. “We’re stuck inside for winter for so long, so it’s nice to get out and enjoy this beautiful weather.”
Nickels also spoke highly of the recently opened Waterfront Wine Bar, saying that the owners, Rachel and Megan did a fantastic job. “I absolutely love that place. They do have scotch and whiskey for those who may not like wine. Just being on the river, being outside…It’s beautiful.”
Those looking to enjoy the outdoor downtown aesthetic yet before the cold weather strikes, there are still a pair of Night Market 920 events scheduled. The next one is tonight featuring Bazooka Joe, followed by the final concert next Wednesday, with The Boogie Men taking the stage. The shows will run from 5:00-9:30 PM in the Farmers Market parking lot.
