University of Wisconsin hockey coach Tony Granato is pushing the N-C-A-A to allow coaches to do more work with their players in the summer. Granato’s Badgers held six practice sessions last month and will hold four more before traveling to Canada to play a pair of exhibitions against the University of British Columbia at the end of this month. Granato says he thinks it’s obvious — if players are on campus, they should be able to work with their coaches in some sort of preparation. Other sports do it.
