The 48-year-old man shot in Chippewa Falls Thursday by a member of a regional SWAT team has a criminal history which includes weapon use. The suspect’s name hasn’t been released. Chippewa Falls Police Chief Matt Kelm says the man called police making threats, then made more threats when officers showed up at the motel where he was staying. When the man refused to comply with commands and exhibited what officers called threatening behavior, he was wounded. His medical condition in a local hospital isn’t known.
