Wisconsin Emergency Management officials said the public sector damage estimate from storms last month is approximately $11. 2 million. Spokesman Andrew Beckett says that number is preliminary and is expected to fluctuate as cleanup & assessment efforts continue from the powerful storms July 18th-thru-the-20th and on July 28th. Those storms produced at least 19 tornadoes and straight-line winds in multiple counties, Manitowoc included, downing trees and knocking out power to hundreds of thousands of people. Significant cleanup efforts are ongoing in three counties: Langlade, Polk, and Barron.
