The seventh floor of a dorm on the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire campus will be designated a “rainbow living community” this fall. School officials say the floor at Karlgaard Towers filled with more than 50 students quickly for the semester starting next month. The new approach to dorm life is aimed at students looking for a discrimination-free home regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity or sex. It’s possible the concept will be expanded in the future.
